Laser fabric engraving and cuting.
Cotton is a natural fiber harvested and woven from the cotton plant.
Denim is a rugged cotton twill textile. As you probably know already, denim is traditionally coloured blue with indigo dye.
There are two types of high-grade felt. Industrial / SAE felt and 100% wool felt that is usually sold for doll making / craft applications come in a multitude of colours.
Polyester is a strong and durable synthetic fabric made from polymer plastic fibres. It is resistant to stretching, shrinking and wrinkling. Often woven with other fabrics. .
With all natural fabrics, the edges mark slightly when cut. Usually a very light browny yellow tone. We cut fabrics on the engraving table or clean Honeycomb bed which can also mark the underside of the fabric.
Cut widths & Kerf
As a benchmark, we recommend that minimum cut widths be no thinner than 2mm.
The laser seals the edge to prevent fraying.
Supplying fabrics as flat as possible
You need to make sure you supply your felt as flat as possible. Try and make sure it is not crumpled, this can have issues when cutting.
